The Perfect family mountain adventure...

Did your family vacation get cancelled? Or are you itching to get your family out of town and into the mountains? If you are still looking for an outdoor adventure for the family we have the perfect trip for you. A three day trip up to the Asulkan Cabin in the world famous Glacier National Park in Rogers Pass. This year the ACC are taking request only for bookings and huts are a hot commodity. This is why we have secured a prime weekend for your family.

The first day of this camp will involve hiking 6.5kms and gaining 729 meters of elevation to get to the hut. The hike up is on a well maintained trail with bridges over creeks and multiple waterfalls that run down the walls of the Asulkan Valley. If you are used to hiking in the rockies this area will feel lush and green. Eventually you gain the moraine and then arrive at the hut. Here you are rewarded with stunning views of Sir Donald, the most iconic peak of the area and the Illecillewaet Glacier. Day two will involve exploring the area and checking out the toe of the glacier. There are lots of fun places to explore and great lunch spots to stop with glacier ponds for the kids to play in throughout the day. Your private guide is knowledgeable about the local area and can point out different climbing routes and stories on the area. Day three will heading down back to the cars with lighter bags and lots of new memories in your families heads.
Camp Objectives

This camp is designed to get families out together in an exciting area and visit the toe of a glacier. Kids will be able to run around and play in alpine ponds. Climb on the edge of the glacier and experience a backcountry hut with the safety and knowledge of an alpine guide.

This new program is designed to open up our incredible hut network to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to access the more technical huts. Maybe you’ll gain a newfound sense of appreciation for Canada's alpine environment. Maybe you’ll be able to reach places and travel in environments you never thought that you’d visit. Maybe the taste of what’s possible will inspire you to continue your mountaineering journey and acquire the skills to reach these places independently. Either way, our Hut Discovery program will provide a unique and memorable experience.
